Will we be hanging a 100″ iMac on the wall anytime soon?

Mark Cuban thinks so. Interesting post on the future of the internet(s) and how the price of HDTV’s will be kept afloat. The answer, features, connectivity and the seamless of integration of web 2.0 with monster TVs. The short answer the blurring of the line between TV and activity on the net.

The most exciting part for me in this scenario for me is the advancement that will be required in user interface and user input. The remote is not an effective input device and no one wants to sit on their couch with a keyboard. Some big advances will be necessary, on the scale of invention of the mouse. Come to think of it, the Wii is probably the first step in this process. Those paddles it has provide a naturally intuitive way to interact with complex system.

It is pretty late notice, but there looks to be some pretty interesting fine art photography panels going on at UCLA and the Hammer Museum this weekend.

Check it out here

From the site
Around Photography is a unique two-day conference organized by UCLA’s Department of Art that will bring together a range of prominent artists, filmmakers, critics and curators. Panel discussions will be moderated by UCLA faculty from the Departments of Art, Art History and Comparative Literature, to discuss the issue of “the photographic” from a perspective outside of traditional disciplinary boundaries. Each section will consist of artist presentations, short screenings and critical papers.
