We’ve never really had a dedicated video editing station at JLOOP.  We’re really dominated by online development starting with Flash and now we do a ton of PHP/MySQL work.  We’ve done video projects over the years, but never felt the need to have a dedicated station here.

But I feel that’s about to change.  With the launch of Votisodes.com and the reality that nearly all of our clients are using video these days.  Our definition of being a Rich Media firm is growing and I expect we will be moving into more video production very soon.  With Flash having become the primary video delivery platform online, and the outstanding integration of video into all aspects of Flash, it is really inevitable that we will be doing more video as we move forward.

So I have begun to hunt around to build an editing station for us.  There is no doubt that we will be building a Mac-based FinalCut Pro system.  And I have to say, the costs to build a professional system are ridiculously low.  With hard drive storage dropping every day, it is really quite surprising.

I’m excited to expand our capabilities in this area.  Get ready for a great deal more JLOOP video output in the future!
