I¹m heading out of town on a plane tomorrow and I have plenty of work to do, so I did a quick search for a LAMP server implementation for my new MacBook Pro laptop. I used to use the WAMP server on my Windows laptop, which worked great. I found MAMP - http://www.mamp.info. As with everything on the Mac, the installation was ridiculously simple, and I¹ve got php & mysql working well. I¹ll let you know how well it really works as I attempt to get a local version of cakephp (www.cakephp.org) working for my plane ride.

Was it the new guy Jason, or maybe brother mike? Daniel? No he has been slammed this week. Dennis? Could not be, he just left on vacation. Scrubbing the email logs now. I will find out. One of you guys sent this to Ze Frank¹s blog, he published it. Gotcha.

“I am 23/M and I have a beginning graphic design position at the company I work for. I think I hate working for a corporation. All of the people who have been working there for a decade tell me “Get out while you still can.” and warn me for all of the ways that management is/will be screwing me over.. Both are progressing fairly well.
All of this energy spent running from a life I hate leaves me exhausted, but takes me on many adventures. I think that someday, like Edison, I will have failed enough that I will find the road that leads to success- whatever that is. Thanks for reading. Interesting little application that asks you to enter word associations and and has a cool cloud display mechanism. I am sure there some mad human experiment behind the whole thing, but oh well.

It’s no secret the Television and Web are converging more and more everyday with sites like youtube and google video. Phones are getting thrown into the mix too with the addition of youtube content on the iPhone, but that’s a whole other post.

Since we are in the process of getting our own video web project Votisodes off the ground, I have taken a little more interest in this area of late. I was browsing through my DVR guide searching for future shows to record (to load up my queue since I can’t stand watching live tv w/ commercials anymore) and I came across a show that seemed interesting: i-Caught.

Last night (in between watching the Angels lose to the Red Sox) I got an opportunity to watch this new show on ABC. I was surprised to find this show was all about video that was uploaded to the net (not the other way around). The show immediately grabbed my attention starting off with a video I hadn’t seen even though it has almost 10 million views in 3 months: Battle at Kruger.

I obviously had to grab my laptop (while watching TV) and pulled up the website to investigate further. It’s ABC’s version of youtube where you can upload your own video and such. Watch, rate, with links to share and embed video, But… They have a TV show in PrimeTime to advertise it! Will a major broadcast company be able to out due viral sites like youtube by use of their mass media outlouts? Should we pitch our Votisodes project to Fox?
