I¹m heading out of town on a plane tomorrow and I have plenty of work to do, so I did a quick search for a LAMP server implementation for my new MacBook Pro laptop. I used to use the WAMP server on my Windows laptop, which worked great. I found MAMP – http://www.mamp.info. As with everything on the Mac, the installation was ridiculously simple, and I¹ve got php & mysql working well. I¹ll let you know how well it really works as I attempt to get a local version of cakephp (www.cakephp.org) working for my plane ride.
