Lynx

Even with all the browsers and versions of browsers we have to test our websites in (and what a pain it can be trying to get them working across the board – especially those older versions that people seem to hold onto – you know who you are, Courtney!), I’ve added one more to my list. A good old text-based browser is a great way to test the accessibility of a website for those using a screen reader to visit it. Lynx has been around since 1992 and is available for Windows and OS X.

Check it out if you haven’t already – let’s make those websites accessible, people!  :)

Mac OS X (2.8.6u)

*Plus, it’s kind of therapeutic navigating a site that consists only of colored text on a black background with just the keyboard – who needs images?
