3D in Flash
Listed on Smashing Magazine post ‘Monday Inspiration: 3D-Experience in Flash‘.
Here’s one to check out: Komodo Media - there may be a concept here to consider when expanding the Dino Squad project.
I placed a shameless plug for the Dino Squad website which hopefully will get approved and be on display for the industry to review.
p.s. Is today the official JLOOP floating holiday?

We’re in the Dino Squad!
Everyone at JLOOP is really proud to announce the launch of www.dinosquad.com. We’ve been working on this site for a few months now, and we’re very excited about how it all came together. Its a new show on Kewlopolis on CBS on Saturday Mornings. (We did the Kewlopolis site as well). We did this project for DIC Entertainment and Poets Road.
I would have to say that I think this site involved one of the larges collaborative teams we’ve ever used. The site uses some awesome technology from virtually every part of what we do. It is creatively rich, deceptively complex, and we’re really proud of how integrated it all is. JLOOP’s team created the web concept, designed the systems, designed the interface, and produced the entire site. The site has multiple systems of currency - bones, tokens, badges, and OOZE Power. You can create your own dinosaur avatar, and then create or join up with a “Squad” to try and conquer the leaderboards. My kids have been playing it this weekend, and they are pretty hooked.
On the technical end, the site uses a series of Flash Remoting APIs that were built using CakePHP with the CakeAmfphp toolset. The front end is built entirely in Flash and uses the awesome 3D libraries of Papervision3d.
So take a look at the site and let us know what you think! We are LOOPSQUAD606 so see if you can top us on the leaderboards!
